Can’t aBiden that choice…

OK, let’s pretend that there really are 2 political parties in this country and that our votes actually matter.

If you are an Obama fan (read liberal, young and hip mainly) you have totally bought into the ‘A Vote for ME is a vote for Change!’ and ‘things will be different and so much better , I am your saviour!’
The entire country waits with baited breath for his first big decision as a leader, picking his VP.
Then the word comes down and the pick is someone that has done nothing in his life except be a Senator? Pretty much the most ‘anti-change’ guy he could have picked!
Not only that, but remember back towards the beginning of the primaries when there was a flap when someone made a very thinly veiled racsist remark towards Obama , calling him ‘clean and well-spoken?’

Remember who said that? Yep. His newest best buddy, Joe Biden.
So, the Veep Obama picks is :

1. The guy in his own party that made the most blatant racist remark about him. Add to that several other racial statements made about his state of Delaware: We were a “slave state that fought beside the North. That’s only because we couldn’t figure out how to get to the South. There were a couple of states in the way.”
2. A guy that voted for the Iraq War, and has fostered the war along (pushing the 3 state split of factions which would entail MUCH more involvement with us as well as making that country unrecognizable)
3. A man who has been busted several times for blatantly plagurizing speeches from others (of course didn’t Obama just get hit for that too? I guess they have that in common.)
4. He’s also not popular with Indian-Americans either after this winning quote: “I’ve had a great relationship [with East Indians in America]. In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian Americans – moving from India. You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking.” Kind of hard to spin out of it when you finish your statement with ‘I’m not joking.’

It would almost seem that Obama has picked a Veep that has not enhanced his chances at all, and maybe lost him a few votes. Maybe McCain will pick Joe Liberman as his veep so everyone is just totally confused.

Of course this is only if you believe the fairy tale that we have a choice…
